This delightful illumination features the moral of the old children's story "Cinderella", as translated and modified by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch (1863-1944). It features an elaborate peacock, rendered in a highly stylized Celtic style. The bird is surrounded and entwined by large 'whitevines', which were a unique design element from Renaissance Europe. The moral of the story is:
Better than wealth or art,
Jewels or a painted face,
It is when a natural heart
Inhabits its natural place
And beats at a natural pace.
